I didn't really get ep5. Anybody got any ideas on what the "moral" to that is?

Maybe there just isn't any (other than you don't always get what you wish for). But I'm sure someone else will come along and share their insights.

If there is a moral, I think it's "look at how badly technology can be corrupted" or whatever moral comes with the robots-become-self-aware-and-destroy-all-humans plot. Then again, I think Charlie Brooker just saw the videos of this military robot and saw possibilities for a plot:






To provide some context, here's my summary of the real-life military robot dog project in my review of this episode:

Boston Dynamics created this robot. Fortunately for us, the robot is not actually weaponised (although some models include an arm that can potentially throw something). It’s built as a pack mule that can accompany soldiers in terrain that could defeat wheeled vehicles. The original BigDog model can carry about 340 lbs and move at about 4 mph. However, its motor was too loud for a combat situation. The video above is a model called the Spot Mini. It’s much quieter, but is much smaller and can run for about 90 minutes without a charge (well below the standards the military wanted for Big Dog.)

Fortunately, the real thing leaves much to be desired as a killing machine:





Yes, it's this thoroughly defeated by a banana peel. Seriously, Fatty Arbuckle, Harold Lloyd, and Buster Keaton are watching this from beyond the grave and laughing at its incompetence.

Episode 6

Interesting revenge story episode, but IMO not as great as the first episode of the season. I still liked the episode, and it was entertaining enough for me to overlook the bad science being promoted in it.

Overall, the season was better than season 3, as none of the season 4 episodes were boring and they were at least ok to watch. Favorite episode for me would be episode 1. Then episode 4.
