I you provide me with over 500 sources that state the sky is yellow, do I have to look at them before I dismiss them?

I KNOW the Bible has no contradictions therefore I can dismiss his nonsense. Besides if I just start pulling contradictions at random and disproving them, do you think he's going to accept personal responsibility for contradiction claim?

If you believe so strongly that the Bible has all these contradictions then it shouldn't be all that hard to provide your best example.

The sky is not the issue. Color is not in any object for that matter. Color is in the light waves coming from the sun. What gets absorbed by an object is what we don't see, what reflects off something to our eyes gives us the perception of color.

But no old book of mythology is a modern science textbook, not the Bible, not the Koran, not the Torrah or Talmud, not the writings of Buddha or the Hindu Vedas.

How is this not a contradiction?

It's a very good one. And seen as you already got the ball rolling here's another. Contradiciton number 127:

Quote:Should we hate other people?

Yes, we should hate some people.

If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. Luke 14:26

No, we should never hate anyone.

Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart. Leviticus 19:17

Love thy neighbour as thyself. Leviticus 19:18

Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. 1 John 3:15

If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. 1 John 4:20-21

You guys are so tame. Just throw him the one about Matthew's genealogy of Jesus clearly contradicting Luke's genealogy, and watch him do some ad hoc galore to explain away the contradictionS.

That one is included in the 525 I cited, gov.

Here's some Jesus. Contradiction number 355. Is Jesus Peaceful?

Quote:Yes.

Blessed are the peacemakers. Matthew 5:9

One of them ... drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear. Then said Jesus ... Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. Matthew 26:51-52

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Luke 2:14

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. John 14:27

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. John 16:33

The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ. Acts 10:36

No.

Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. Matthew 10:34

Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. Luke 12:51

He that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. Luke 22:36

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. Revelation 19:11

How is this not a contradiction?

On the 6th day God made man in his image which is spirit, he later formed a body for man to inhabit out of the dust of the earth.
Job 38:4-7
Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Morning stars reference angels, and the sons of God are men.

Note it states ALL the sons of God were there at the beginning.

Your spirit wasn't created at the moment of your birth, your spirit was created back when God formed man in his image, the body only houses the spirit.

The bible makes it clear that when we leave this body we go to inhabit another body, therefore making the body and spirit two completely separate things, and therefor not a contradiction for one to be made before the other.

For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. - 2 Corinthians 5:1

Satisfied?

Almost...

From Genesis 1, it does start to state what you say:
""
26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

27
So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
""

But then...
""
28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
""

What does it mean for those spirits to "increase in number, fill the earth", if they were all made previously?
Here, it seems to me like they mean actual humans on the face of the planet Earth, not just spirits.

So I'm led to think that Job's post rationalization missed a part.
Can you clarify?

Contradiction number 3 of 525... were plants created before or after humans?

Quote:Plants were created before humans.

In the first creation account, plants were created on the third day and humans on the sixth day.

And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so .... And the evening and the morning were the third day.Genesis 1:11-13

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them .... And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Genesis 27-31

Plants were created after humans.

In the second account, God formed a man before any plants existed (it hadn't rained yet and there was no man to till the ground). Sometime later, God created plants to please and feed the man.

These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth ... And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground. Genesis 2:4-7

And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Genesis 2:8-9

Let me just make clear that the book of Job is the oldest book of the bible, it was written long before Genesis.

Anyway this goes back to me stating that man was never intended to reproduce sexually, man was for all intents and purposes were little gods, they were given the power to create.

RE: AF Hall of Shame (Post Edition)
There are also two creation accounts, ergo contradiction number 1. The Two Contradictory Creation Accounts.

Quote:The Book of Genesis begins with two contradictory creation accounts (1:1-2:3 and 2:4-3:24). In the first, God created humans (male and female) after he finished making all of the other animals. In the second, God made one man ("Adam") and then created all of the animals in order to find a helpmeet for Adam. God brought all of the animals to Adam, but none of them appealed to him. So God made a woman from one of Adam's ribs to serve as his helpmeet.
Here are two of the more obvious contradictions between the two creation accounts.

In the first creation story, humans are created after the other animals.

And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Genesis 1:25-27

In the second story, humans were created before the other animals.

And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. Genesis 2:18-19

In the first creation story, the first man and woman were created simultaneously.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Genesis 1:25-27

In the second account, the man was created first, then the animals, then the woman from the man's rib.

And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them.... And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. Genesis 2:18-22

See, the only way for Huggy to find his way around these contradictions is by his wasting our time with the exact retarded mental gymnastics I said he'd waste our time with.

It's old and poorly written and therefore it must have been mistranslated and it must be magic and non-contradictory. You're a fucking idiot.
