July 1 will be my one year anniversary of quitting smoking. Honestly, I never thought this day would come. There's been a lot going on here and plenty of times when I could have just as easily gone back to smoking. I'm proud to say that hasn't been the case. Not a craving, not a thought.

The only way I could quit is if you locked me in a room and put me in a straight jacket. Kudos to you.

Attagirl.  Never took it up myself, so I can't give you the old I-know-how-you-feel rubbish, but I've seen other folks quit and struggle hard to do so.  Good on yer.

Well done! It's no easy thing to quit a old habit, look at me, trying to quit these forums, and always back at it!

I second that... that's how I feel most of the time... I just need someone to chain me to my bed for 48 hours. Any volunteers? (Sex play is optional Big Grin)

Anyway, congratulations Joods, you've done a wonderful job... and hopefully one day, hopefully soon, I'll be joining your ranks as a non-smoker Smile

Thanks guys. I tried many times to quit before I was successful. I think what it comes down to is that you need to be fully ready to quit. I got so tired of smoking. I was finally ready to be done. That's what mentally worked for me. I needed to be in "that" place.

Congrats!

It's difficult, but it's well worth it. You don't have any other smokers in the house do you? I know other smokers can be a major temptation. (Personally we don't allow smoking in our house. Not just because of temptation, but because second hand smoke is bad for you too)

Congratulations, Joods. It is now your job to go forth and be an insufferable, intolerant ex-smoker so that the rest can be set right. Good luck.
