I have a pretty rigid moral sense, it;s not difficult for me to classify that kind of statement as bad..but its not entirely unheard of to do some bad thing for the greater good.  In this case..and in context, the bad thing was saying mean words...and the greater good would have been the cessation of kidnappings and the rape of a shadow class with no legal recourse.

I'm surprised anyone's really like, "Well, it's not that bad because he's dad's a dick." Really, no one should even be talking about this underage child. He has nothing fucking at all to do with what's happening and should be left completely out of it. There is a huge difference between a hypothetical to make a point, and what Fonda said.

Saying something like "how would Trump feel if Barron was ripped from his mother's arms and thrown in a cage?" is a hypothetical to make a comparison with a real situation and try and enact some empathy from Trump and his followers.

What Fonda said was a borderline threat against the son of the President. In fact I'd call it an actual threat but with no real seriousness behind it.
