Democrats already won a special election in one of the reddest states in the union. And Trump hasn't significantly changed his behaviors since then.
I would be afraid the democrats would just be taken over by a bunch of corporate sell-out, milqetoast democrats, always ready to push their party further to the right to appeal to the moderates (with absolutely zero consideration for the fact that 20 years of this policy has left America with a center-right party and a completely crazy party). But it seems some candidates from the left are finally pushing back. I think Trump was elected because the people want change and they thought Hillary was just more of the same. If they see democrats who are inspiring the people, who are standing up for the middle or lower class, who are calling out corporate greed and the oligarchy we currently have, hopefully they can win on a message of change. Admittedly, Obama ran on a message of change and things didn't change quite as much as I'd like. I want someone who talks about change, especially economic change, and actually delivers.

Except that those who initially voted for him still aren't seeing the issues with him as president.

Two important things to consider: 1) The hard-core Trumpers and most die-hard Republicans aren't going to see anything that's wrong. But those aren't the people who decide elections. Undecided moderates, especially in battleground states, those are the ones who actually decide elections and I think more of them see what he's doing wrong. Also, 2) Low voter turnout helps Trump and a lot of progressive minded people who didn't previously vote are showing up, especially racial and ethnic minorities (that's how Roy Moore lost). If the democrats really want to win, this is what they need to do: encourage people to vote, try to make it easier to vote, try to help them get whatever documentation or identification they need to vote and get them to vote. Als, yeah, there are Trump voters who regret voting for him. I take a certain delight in their anger. Enjoy: https://trumpgrets.tumblr.com/

Encourage Democrats to vote when they did and Hillary won the popular vote yet was surpassed due to an incompetent Electoral College that chose to elect Trump instead? Tell me how does one inform of the importance of voting when voting doesn't matter if the Electoral College makes a decision like that?

Tell me how does one inform of the importance of voting when voting doesn't matter if the Electoral College makes a decision like that? And this is one of the reasons I am quickly losing faith in our election system. I hear people (usually republicans) tell me that the electoral college is there to make sure we don't ignore less populuos states. Well, guess what? It isn't working. Sure, California, New York and Texas get ignored, but so do states like Wyoming, Oklahoma, Alaska, Montana, Idaho, Georgia, Illinois, Washington and Massachusetts. Candidates from both parties focus exclusively on a handful of battleground states like Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania and Michigan. Any other state, small or large, is ignored. You want to hear the really ridiculous part of this? You can win the presidency with 22% of the vote! That's right, folks: you don't even need to get a quarter of the population to vote for you if you want to be president (even less if you count Puerto Rico, but that's a beside the point). I don't think that's how a democracy is supposed to work, despite the fact that we've had two of the past five elections with the "winning" candidate losing the popular vote.

The sad part is that it has happened before, where the Electoral College ignored the voice of the people. Each time, it was to choose a "Republican" president. Is the Electoral College afraid that having too many Democratic presidents will demolish the Republican party? Well, certainly electing an idiot like Trump does not help matters.

But, it is clear that many of Trump's followers are simply experiencing a form of brainwashing by their Leader: Trump Wages War Against the Fourth Estate RE: Donald Trump predicting Red Wave!!
