I shouldn't have to try so hard
August 28, 2018 at 11:42 am
That's the problem with faith.
I shouldn't have to try so hard to attempt an ignorant person of faith that s/he is wrong.
Our lives are riddled with these instances where we try too hard to convince someone else that something should be done differently.
Except that logic should absolutely show reason over routine.
Routine will always be the destruction, for it shows no willingness toward change that respects truth over comfort.

If you are claiming that I am wrong; I just ask why, and to give reason for how you came to this conclusion. Which doesn’t seem that difficult or unreasonable.

You don't. There is nothing anywhere compelling you to waste perfectly good energy on a believer. Let them have their magical, imaginary friends.

Not all are well versed in logic and reason, able to employ robust critical thinking skills, have honest curiosity, employ skepticism when appropriate, etc.
Some humans primarily rely on their brains' limbic system and avoid use of there frontal cortexes to the point of atrophy.
Although only through a somewhat small sample, I have observed hundreds of humans whose brains are underutilized, diseased and/or avoided. Most are infected with irrationality, emotionalism, confusion and/or one of the numerous and currently active strains of the God Virus.

Me, too. The churches are full of them.

Why should we waste our time on claims of magic babies with super powers? Not hard to figure out the tooth fairy isn't real is it?

So it would seem that you have poor reasons behind you or claims, and largely decided based on your personal increduelity. Would this be accurate?
And I didn’t say anything close to your first paragraph; it must be the voices in your head again!

This sort of language of, "I shouldn't have to [insert difficult thing here]" is nonsense and ultimately harmful. No, in an ideal world, you shouldn't have to do a lot of things. But we do. And we're not in an ideal world.
I totally get where you're coming from, but unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, the only thing we can truly control is ourselves and how we react to things! The beauty in this is you truly can get to a place where stuff life this doesn't bother you.
If reason ruled all, religion would not exist. But then maybe a lot of other things wouldn't exist either, who knows?
If you're frightened of dying, and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the Earth.

Sometimes it is just amusing to poke fun at alleged adults who believe in "magic babies with super powers." How can you take people like that seriously?

The earth is 4 billion years old. The universe is 13.8 billion years old. Our species was around long before someone concocted your book of mythology. Our species will not be around 5 billion years from now. That was then, this is now. It was understandable that humans made that crap up in an age of authoritarian kings when they didn't know any better, we know better now.
