Essex (UK) village used in 'appalling' Trump candidate advert

RE: Essex (UK) village used in 'appalling' Trump candidate advert
The ridiculous thing is that the conditions they warn about last occurred under a Republican president and his administration, that of GW Bush, and not as a result of Pelosi and Democrats.

And who wants to bet that most of those rundown areas acrually did vote for Trump? And that things didn't change after Trump got elected?

That's a pretty fucking safe bet right there I reckon. There is doubtless a positive correlation between education and socio-economic location. Neo-liberal economic policy is red in tooth and claw.

I can't bear to give ur post kudos, it's too depressing. Kudos for truth value still.

ETA: there are USB ports in the back of the seats on buses these days here. Love catching the bus I do : )

Not sure exactly how this relates, but the most Republican districts in the coming midterms are also the most well off, but they were well off before Trump. I read a recent report of a study that supposedly showed a link between racism and sexism and Obama voters going Trump, but not between economic malaise and those same voters, so it's not clear what the relationship between economic conditions and voting Trump was. Given that he won primarily by appealing to rural voters, I doubt it's as clear cut as you suggest.

Don't look to the ( D )'s to make everything all better --

Detroit is now and has been all during my lifetime a ( D ) stronghold.
Coleman Young and Kwame Kilpatrick were not only staunch ( D )'s but are names synonomous of ineffective, corrupt mayors.

But they kept voting for that ( D ) after the name.....

...

And not saying the ( R )' s would be any better - just no worse.

And what?  The auto companies moved their factories to fucking Alabama because of that?  How about because they could pay shit to the morons in the south who are too fucking dumb to unionize.

Does like pretty shit though, to be fair. Although I’ve never been to Clacton Essex is a weird place. They’ve got electricity and running water but in many respects they’re just not ready for it.

And what?

You shitting me????

They took the money from the unions and planned on getting fat and happy.

They made NO attempts to bring in new types of business... Ever hear of a diversified portfolio??? It' s what any smart investor does.

For a bunch who claim to have vision - these stupid politicians saw no further than getting re- electioned and making themselves rich at the public's expense. So what if they only had one source of income, huh?

Or is Detroit what you think as " well governed"?

They were in charge.

They fucked the pooch.
