They do indeed.  And the fuel that they burn isn't at the refinery.  It's on military bases.  So, in order to stop the military cold in its tracks, you're going to have to blow up the military bases first.

I'm no expert on the procedures of the US army, but I'm fairly sure they've planned for that eventuality.

I was in the Army in the 1980s. I can't begin to describe how ill-advised it would be to try to "blow up" a military base.

To put this in perspective, the attack on the Consulate in Benghazi during the Obama administration was carried out by heavily armed, amatuer soldiers against a handful of poorly armed well-trained Marines in a lightly fortified non-military compound who were denied military back-up. That fight lasted hours. Attempting to take on even a small military base run by any first world power is the sort of thing that would win someone a Darwin Award...

And the attack on the U. S. Embassy in Saigon during Tết Nguyên Đán was laughable. (BTW, that big guy in the white shirt? CIA station chief and absolutely terrible at poker.)
