Part 1:
Faith: None (if none, proceed to part 2) Part 2 I define agnosticism as: I define atheism as: I define negative and possitive atheism as: I define anti-theism as: I define dystheism/maltheism/misotheism as: As senseless a question as asking how I define an 'atom' or a 'particle of matter'. I don't "define" any of them. I merely use the labels with their long-established definitions in compliance or accordance with what the dictionary says the phrases actually mean and in what context, scope and outline they should be used in. I did not create any of these words therefore I don't get to assign my own personal subjective meaning to them. I recognise the widely and daily-used terms of these concepts as follows: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agnosticism http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atheism http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-theism http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Misotheism http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maltheism That's all there is to it. Rightly or wrongly many people (atheist and theist alike) have their own definition for atheism and agnosticism which drastically differs from my own. Communication is made difficult when you have different understandings of the same term and different terms for the same concept.
Like your additions frodo, I forgot background? ARG! /facepalm, yeah and It would also need that checkbox. WC? RE: What I think might be useful for debates and understanding one another:

WC = Welsh Cake
Sorry - keep using that and causing confusion. Yes people define things very differently and it would be good to know. It can be a long answer for a form though. |
