Border enforcement officials support a wall.  It's worked very for Israel.  It's much easier and efficient to stop them at the border.  It's also more humane than chasing people around and deporting them; especially those with families.

Yikes! Dude, you really misunderstand how Jews feel about those walls in Israel. Walls violate our sense of self. Jews spent centuries living in walled off communities. The Zionist dream was to be able to live without walls. The wall between Israel proper and the West Bank was built during a period of war when Israel was subjected to several dozen suicide bombers. The border between Israel and Lebanon/Syria is fenced off because Israel is at war with those countries. The walls in Israel are seen as basically being necessary, but never wanted. Walls exacerbate differences.

Show me the suicide bombers that are coming across the border from Mexico. Otherwise, a wall on our southern border is nothing like the walls in Israel. Why would we want to exacerbate our differences with Mexico? Because that is all that a wall will really do. It will just make our differences with our southern neighbor greater, and the last time that I checked, they were our friends.

Nice, but problem is in reality, humans fleeing famine, crime and war, don't always have the option to wait in line.

I will never have a problem with anyone saying, "Deport violent individuals". Nobody should have a problem with that.

But someone whom crosses the border who is non violent, without papers, or someone who flies on an airplane or takes a boat, whom starts out with a legal visa can and do overstay their legal permit. 

The issue is violence, not country, not race not religion. We cannot as a species call ourselves empathetic, pluralistic, or western, if we treat anyone trying to seek a better life, even without papers, even when they overstay, as if they were Isis, or Ms-13 or Hitler. Most humans migrate, not because they want to harm those where they move to, but migrate merely because they want to survive.

"Kick violent individuals out".... I am fine with that.

I am not fine with deporting innocent non violent people, with or without papers, especially if you don't have a different place to send them back to, and only send them back to what they were trying to escape and will most likely die if you do.

America, denied a boat full of 900 Jews during WW2 that landed in Cuba. Because of our diplomatic laws at the time, those Jews didn't get past Cuba, and were sent back to Europe. Most of those 900 Jews died.

So when someone talks about immigration, I think about my innocent non violent Hispanic neighbors, whom have lived on both sides of me for over a decade now. I will not rat them out, I will not ask them what their legal status is. And even if I did know, I DON'T FUCKING CARE. All I know is that they have been nothing but kind to me and never caused me a lick of trouble.

They have kids, and like any parent in the world, they are going to do what they have to to help their kids.

Are you for just opening up the border or for trying to control immigration? If we are to control immigration then we must have a way to do it.  You're confusing the issue of being humanitarian with allowing anybody, no matter what to come.  There is an argument for allowing those fleeing violence to enter, but we must have a way to determine who's who.  The world has billions of people in dire need and we should help in the best way possible, but realize we can't eliminate the problem on our own.  Is the way to help them to bring them all here?  You know that's impossible.  The problems that exist in the countries from which people come must be resolved or the suffering just continues, no matter how many we take.  Thinking we can just open up the borders will solve the problem is idealistic and won't solve the problems.

I can show the drug runners that come across daily and the damage they're doing to the country.  Also the abuse and killing that is being perpetrated by the human smugglers on the immigrants that could be stopped or greatly decreased by a wall.  If we're worried about what Mexico thinks of us, just build the wall and be a good neighbor to Mexico.  We can explain why we're building it and maintain good relations with them.  If they want to hate us because we want to control our own borders, that's their problem.

I -don't- Lek..how could you have missed that?  I don't propose that we stop asylum seekers at all.  The rampaging hordes have this strange habit of doing exactly what they're supposed to. That we force needless conflicts to satisfy whatever fear mongering bullshit one half of our government has made it's brand is an us problem, not a them problem.
