RE: Should prostitution be legal or illegal

I think prostitution should be legal as it is in Australia. Making it against the law only makes criminals out of women whom, in my opinion, have every right to do with their bodies what they wish. It makes criminals out of men whom wish to copulate with willing partners, who just so happen to be charging for their services.
Licensed brothels are the way to go, as I am sure they do well to insure the security of the participants, and keeps prostitutes off the street and away from abusive pimps who often enslave these women.

It shouldnt be outlawed.. f they want to pay and be paid for sex that is fine...but if we had a fair system of economics, prostitution would not be an viable option anyways.
Only a corrupt system is one where prostitution is considered for survival by some.

The notion that prostitutes simply choose
to have sex is erroneous. Many are junkies
who have a habit to finance. They become so
because they have to not because they want to
But it should be legalised. Revenue raised by tax
would be astronomical. There would be zero danger
of sexual assualt from johns. Brothels would have twenty
four hour security. And money to be paid up front. All would
have regular health checks. Condoms would be a non negotiable
requirement. It would take all power away from pimps and restore the
self esteem of those who work in the profession. So no reason not to legalise

Prostitution is illegal in South Australia, but tolerated in brothels.
Should it be legalised? Of course, it's a pragmatic and public health issue as far as the law is concerned,or should be.

About the first bolded portion: I wonder where you got your statistics stating that many prostitutes are junkies. Not that I don't there are some out there, but there are also women who just enjoy sex and having the power over their own bodies.
About the second bolded portion: Just because sex is paid for upfront doesn't mean that there aren't some people out there that don't just like hurting women. Period. So saying that there would be zero danger is a bit fallacious.
