Lets try to put this in the simplest terms that require as little of ones own volition as possible to understand. The resurrection is not accepted as a historical detail by "the majority of scholars". Not even those guys will stamp that one.
There was no event of a missing body to misconstrue as the ascension of a demi-god into heaven. The resurrection is an explicitly theological detail, it needs no explanation of any event that actually happened. People didn't mistakenly believe it. No guy kinda named hercules ever had to sort of kill a big dog, either.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

At work.

It was awesome..but that's what's going on here, ironically. We're re-imagining details of a mythical characters historic life like the writers of that movie. Then coming up with Natural Explanations...for that.

So... source for the claim about the resurrection "myth" or no? Of course it is a myth, but I'm not convinced that most Christians feel that way. If Jesus wasn't resurrected from the dead, then he wasn't the son of god. So why follow anything he says or create a religion called CHRISTianity?

Who cares what most christians believe? That's ever changing.
We're speculating about possible explanations for the construction of the myth. That leans on historic detail. The resurrection, no matter how fervently believed by however many christians, today, isn't a historic detail. It doesn't need a missing body to explain as a grand mistake. People intentionally declared it orthodoxy, due to it's theological importance, based on their beliefs about sympathetic magic's potency. Its explicitly theological. Even if there were a real jesus the man, the resurrection is still myth. Still not something that happened that confused people, or turned them into a conspiracy of liars.

Well, thank goodness it isn't a historic detail. Otherwise, we'd be pretty damn wrong about a lot of things.
If your point is that a good number of academic, college educated theologians don't take the resurrection literally... then... okay...?

No. I'm saying that they don't take the resurrection narrative itself to be a historic detail. They don't think that there was a missing body that got spun into a fairy tale. It wasn't an event that happened that needs an "other than magical resurrection" explanation.

So, you're saying there's no evidence that the resurrection happened? Thank god for that.
