What do cigarettes cost?

I’m not hopping on the quitting train just yet. I wanna be sure we’re nit gonna go the way of the dodo before the reds would have killed me.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
11 minutes of your life. That's what a cigarette costs.
I remember hearing that on the radio when I was in college -- and that's when I decided to quit smoking. I was never more than a casual smoker. Gave me a good excuse at work to take a break, or when I was in the mood for one. Got my best friend to quit smoking with me. (She was a heavier smoker than I was, so she had it a lot harder). I've been smoke-free for going on 16 years now.
The whole tone of Church teaching in regard to woman is, to the last degree, contemptuous and degrading. - Elizabeth Cady Stanton

Ads still said "Doctors recommend..." and there were only a few rumbles about weeds actually being bad for you. I resented smoking most of my life and I started smoking just before university. I think that I was already hooked because I was mimicking smoking while my relatives were truly smoking. After high school I was in a self-distructive state so I think I did t have the resolve to abstain anymore. Because of my ignorance to addiction I taught Thai I will smoke just one year, hit my lowest point and then quit, little did I know that quitting was not such a simple thing.
"resisted"?
Almost as much as weed.
Disappointing theists since 1968!

I'm trying to think of it as an opportunity to gain health. I'm already buying new things in my mind with all the extra cash. |
