But there are different degree of egregiousness to wrongful killing.   I don't think her case is one of the more egregious.    If she opened the door, went in, surprised, came back out, and then decided to draw her gun, go back in and shoot the alleged intruder, then I would agree she is a killer and deserved 20 years.

But that's not what happened.

She probably was high on adrenaline, probably did feel threatened, and shot Bo in an exhibition of very poor judgement.

We as civilians cannot use the excuse of "I was tired and confused" to go around shooting people. Even if those people are perceived threats. Unfortunately, our perceptions in cases like these do not change reality. The reality is, Botham Jean was in his own home, not bothering anyone, and Guyger was the intruder, and the threat - the threat that happened to be fatal. Guyger deserves far more than ten years, considering she took an innocent man's life for no legitimate reason other than she was "on autopilot."

Not to mention, we should be holding our LEOs to a much higher standard than civilians - that's why they're LEOs. These people are supposed to be well-trained, resilient and should have a heightened ability to assess "dangerous" situations and act accordingly. Guyger displayed a clear lack of all three.

I think the brother of the victim who hugged the convicted acted in a admirably nobly and humane way that is beyond any reproach.    I do not even begrudge his ad hoc proselytizing.

Totally. I don't understand what the judge was thinking.

No one's telling you you can't comment on it, lol calm down.

Frankly, I'm sick of the entire narrative--The expectation that we should be the better people and turn the other cheek and forgive motherfuckers who see fit to mow us down like cattle.

The narrative warrants pushback IMO, and I don't mind saying so.

And fuck that judge, especially. Handing that twat a Bible as she brush away the defendant's tears like some goddamned mammy.
I mean, what in the fucking Oprah Winfrey was that all about?

Inappropriate a hell.

What a shit show.

You can frame it however you like; it comes off like you telling people they're wrong for feeling how they feel, which is silly.

Would I forgive someone who killed my sister/brother/father/mother like this? Nope. But I'm also not going to tell other people how to grieve.

She didn't exactly do as those stand-your-ground people did who coldly took advantage of stand-your-ground laws to shoot people when they were not surprised and could have avoided the confrontation.

Calling her a killer is a little over the top.

The guy was eating ice-cream in his pajamas. Wtf?!

If you come home to find a stranger eating ice cream in his pajamas, you might be out of sorts too.

I don't know about LFC, but I've never walked into a stranger's home thinking it was mine. Not even after a long shift.

Nah. No, not really. At least, not in my experience.

Oh, bullshit. Big Grin

You repeatedly commanding for me to "calm down" as if I'm wild and out of control is a deliberate attempt shut down talking points and perspective that you don't wish to hear. Unfortunately for you, I don't play these silly sorts of games.

Fear of being labeled "angry" doesn't get me all out of sorts and afraid to voice my true thoughts and opinions.

Yeah, see...Idgaf what you would do though. So therein lies the problem...lol.
I don't care that you find it inappropriate that I'm expressing how I feel about the the victim's brother's tap dancing.

You found it impressive and/or admirable? Not surprised.
I, however, do not. And you and I are unlikely to ever see eye to eye on such issues. I can live with that.

You'll have to as well.

And yet, here you are still trying to convince me that this is some legitimate concern you have. Weird.

Totally calm, huh? lol sure.

It's legitimate issue to me, and many others folks actually.
Your opinion on the matter,is of zero value to me.

What can I say? Lol

You're wasting your time trying to convince me of what I should and should not be discussing in this thread. I'll approach the thread topics from whatever angle or perspective I please, so long as it falls within the general rules of this forum.

You don't like it? Don't engage in discussion with me.

Moving on.....

Anyway, fuck that racist cop and her tears.
She was undoubtedly crying out of self-pity.

Yes, I do believe that race played a huge factor in this crime.
Do I think that she deliberately entered the apartment with the hopes of shooting a black guy in mind? No, probably not.

However, I do believe his being Black was the reason why she was so quick to shoot to kill instead of holding him at gunpoint like she supposed to (until she realized she wasn't even in her fucking house, of course)--And why she made no effort to render first aid to the man, even though she'd been trained to do so and had supplies right in her bag.

What a horrid, callous bitch.

Still going, huh? Who you trying to convince? Me or yourself?

I don't take issue with people choosing to grieve in a way they find appropriate; it's simply not something that crosses my mind to do.

You're an expert on these things, though, so who am I to question you? Lol.

What a horrid, callous bitch.

A cop at least here has great responsability. A couple of years here in portugal a guy run over a cop stopping him after he commited burglary, The other cop jumped out of the way and tried to shoot the tires in the spur of the moment. Turns out one of the shots killed the young son of the burglar that was in the back of the van.

The cop still got trialed for manslaughter. He got 5 years. That incident had nothing to do with racism, parts involved were white.

On a side note, there is indeed strident racism here, but between blacks and gipsies. I was in the neighborhood attending a friends daughter B-day and we withnessed some gunshots at the distance. My black friend told me there is some bad blood between black families and gipsy on that street. No shit. No injuries, its just a couple of of shotgun shells to the air, so he told me.
