I could’ve looked, but then I wouldn’t have had a reason to start a thread. Bahaha

The paradise some see are more likely the gates of hell.

Many, yes, but obviously not all. Mine is an absolute darling.

Maybe, but it also works the other way around: like, queen probably thinks Meghan Markle is from hell.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Anyone who has an NDE should be required to sign an NDA - and spare us all the tit dribble blathering....

I never see devils or demons during near-drunk experiences.

I have to be full-on drunk for that to happen.  Confused

During my first few years in grade school I heard a lot of NDE's of hell. I don't know how many of them could have been merely fictional anecdotes, but using religion to scare the shit out of little kids was what Catholic nuns did back in the 1950's.  Dodgy

Yeah, I suspect a lot of the NDEs we hear about are marketing ploys.  A believer has a bad medical experience and either lies about what happened or convinces themselves that something happened.

Not to say that people never have some sort of perithanatic experience - oxygen-starved brains do funny things.  I imagine that whether such experiences are heavenly or hellish depends in large part on the believer's upbringing and beliefs.

I don't know. I know a guy who had one and he's pretty cool about it. He heard music.
