Glad you kept up with the fitness thing and are looking to mix things up a bit.
I've done kickboxing. I'd love to try Muay Thai. I went to a Krav Maga gym once, but we don't have a ton of it around here. That studio closed.

I bet it's harder for you to touch your toes now than it was then too. I just know from my own personal experience that I have to stretch out the back of my legs a lot.
I have long arms, so it's not too hard, but maybe if I did some regular toe stretches, that would help too.
I like heel drops too. I sometimes just hang out in the dropped position.
My problem is my shoulders. God, they're such garbage.

I've seen people do that too.
I think one issue is, any time you start something new, that uses new muscles, you're kind of starting from scratch. And any time I take a break from working out, I struggle to catch back up to where I was. Fitness takes a lot of commitment.
Probably the best thing about having a job that requires some physical exertion is, because you have to do it, you'll be a lot more consistent. also helps that you're out of the house for hours, and can't just sit around eating all day.
I tried to get a gym buddy once, to encourage me to work out with him/her, but never really found anyone. My mother wants me to work out, but refuses to come and do it with me.
I do yard work, more because I'm used to doing it as a chore, than really enjoying it. Though I'm not sure how to make a little business out of it, because most of my neighbors are used to paying chump change for it, or doing it for chump change. Kind of hard to make money in an area where there's a neighbor who will do a half decent job for a pack of cigarettes, and a couple of beers.
Though as rainy as March has been, it's difficult to do much at all outside anyway.

I have a job where I sit on my ass. If I don't exercise, I will definitely die young.
People are cheap. I'm lucky I manage to peddle my skills.

That's where I am, too sedentary. I'm trying to get the motivation to slam ball with my wife and son for minutes a day. Once I can create that routine I'll get the equipment in my garage dusted off and do a more targeted strength set.

Best way to start is just do what you can, every day you're able, and you will work your way up. Your body will likely hate you for the first week or so, though.
I'm actually trying to get into a point where I can have a dog, because an active play buddy could really improve things. That's a good motivator to go for walks, when you have a pet that needs his own enrichment.

I read about an exercise regimen in which you’re to do all of your workouts nude in front of a large mirror. The idea is that you see yourself how you are, and that incentivizes you to work that much harder to get the body you want.

No doubt about that. Diet is even more important. While I don't work out in the nude, I do look ay my naked body in the mirror once in a while. I also have an old picture where I was a real fat boy.

Diet is the #1 thing if weight loss and health are the goal. If you're goal is energy and strength, that's what exercise does. Sure it burns some calories, but you have to work out an absolute shit load for it to counteract a bad diet in terms of caloric intake.
