Looks get an immediate reaction/response - but there are some really good looking complete assholes out there.  A guy who has some wit and charm...a sense of style... and if he can play music and/or dance...yeah, that's worth a second or third look.

And even that can backfire on women. Though, to be far more fair than Dahvie Vanity deserves, I'm not sure Blood on the Dancefloor really counts as music:

Even someone with some superficial charm (and a musician at that) can turn out to be just as toxic as the incels. Hell, potentially even worse, because when Blood on the Dance Floor goes on tour, Dahvie Vanity apparently has a girl in every concert stop, and when I say girl, I don’t mean someone of consenting age.

Musicians are hot.

At the time I understood that in rock band terms.  I didn't think it applied to trumpet players.  Other than Herb Alpert.  Hell I'd do him.

Later I learned that the intro and first verse of Over the Hills and Far Away was all I needed and simply wasn't fair unless I meant it.

Looking further back at myself as a 9 year old in pads and cleats, angry tears welling, sitting at the piano practicing some bullshit song because dad had laid down the law.  No football until you practice for the next lesson.  I understand his logic.  There are may be  two ways this boy is going get to laid but sports ain't one of em.

My wife says that what first attracted me to her was that I seemed to be goofy and sincere at the same time (her words, not mine).  What attracted me to her is that she didn't ask about my eyepatch the first time she met me.

I had a friend who I thought would never get laid. But he evidently got a sympathy fuck and that went wrong when he figured it was going to be a regular thing. I had to referee their last meeting, she was scared of him by then. The last time I saw him he was over forty and one fuck shy of being a virgin. Given that he looked like a character actor out of a 1930s western this was no surprise. He would have been listed as "Cook's Assistant" in the credits, if he even got a line.

I have a friend in his 50s who has apparently had sex 18 times with 18 different women, not one second timer. I don't know what he is doing wrong. He is thin with dark hair and is not unattractive.(as far as I can tell)
