Challenge - pick any major city in the US - and compare the number of black men killed by police with the number killed by other black men.

Then bring those numbers back and show me I am wrong - and I will gladly admit I am wrong.

That IS what we are talking about - black men fearing being killed by police - my contention is they have more to fear from other black men than the police.

I’m not great at math, but if “black on black crime” is no more or less than white on white crime, or Hispanic on Hispanic crime, then why are you even talking about it? If all races kill each other at about the same rate, but unarmed black men are a third more likely to be killed by police than any other race, what does that tell you, OLB?

Statistically speaking the odds of me struck and killed by an asteroid are roughly 1 in 250,000. Which may seem staggering, unless you are that 1, then your chances of being struck and killed is 100 percent.

From my observations - in Michigan - we see shooting daily - but it never makes national news. Unless it is a cop. Then it's "a story".

It's a bit like (example not to scale) a guy who is terrified of swimming in the ocean because he is scared of sharks. But he's perfectly comfortable on the drive to the besch.

This is statistically speaking totally illogical - because your statistcal likelyhood of being killed by a shark is dwarfed by the likelyhood of you dying in a car wreck on the way to the beach.


Sure there are asshole cops who hate blacks - I can relate.

I rode motorcycles - with long hair and beard and the usual scruffy biker type apparel for years - back when it wasn't as mainstream as it is today - and got hassled by cops who hated bikers. I had cops do a fast u-turn to pull me over when I was obeying all traffic rules. DYB - driving while biker. I spent a weekend in jail in California for absolutely no reason at all. (My one time in jail) I get it.

I have been refused service in resuraunts and denied hotel accomodations - simply because of how I look.

I get it.

But it didn't make me fear cops. Assholes are everywhere in society. They aren't all cops.
