Bikers will "get it".

So will cardiac surgeons.

But what about cardiac surgeons who are bikers?

My husband used to have a Sportster. He later got some big ass custom bike but when he had the Sportster the reason for it was to go fast. It certainly wasn't a bike built for long rides to enjoy the scenery. The sissy bar (if you could call it that) was about four inches high. I told him I was a much bigger sissy than that. I think I rode a total of two miles with him for various reasons. One being his need for speed. I had no desire to become a grease spot on the pavement. Both bikes were so damn loud they would rattle your fillings loose.

I'll take a road trip in a car, drive 24 hours straight and enjoy it. Bugs in my teeth, tangled hair, and roaring exhaust pipes have never appealed to me.

I regularly used to ride my bike between Melbourne and Sydney when I was going to uni. So often, in fact, that I became quite well known at the petrol station/stop off that I used as a pitstop for my journeys.

But, honestly, one if the great joys I have is jumping in my car and taking it on the open road. Last major road trip was to Darwin and back.

I had planned a solo road trip for the end of this month.  My high school reunion was to be held the weekend of my birthday and I was going to visit my best friend and maybe swing into the Chicago area to see my sister and niece.  COVID cancelled the reunion as well as the rest of my plans.  The 1,000 mile drive, one way, was going to be my favorite part of the trip.

I gave up moto's when my drinking got out of control.

Last bike I had was a Suzuki GS700EF. Nimble and fast. I rode rings around my friends hogs.

My taste ran more towards touring bikes. Sometimes I get a little misty over my Electraglide.

I thought you had to be of a certain age to own an Electraglide?

The gathering of riders I witnessed in the mountains of North Carolina some years ago would indicate that an AARP card was required to own one.  Oh, and matching riding attire...hubby, wife, and bike.

Nah, you can be any age at all. All that is required is a sense of taste and style.

I went from a '37 Flattie to the Suzki. I sold the Harley and bought the bike. And a car. (Being married does that to you.)
