Who were your heros?
July 27, 2020 at 12:22 pm
I have countless icons, both historical and media.
I love MLK, Lincoln and RFK and Rosa Parks and John Lewis and A Phillip Randolph.
But I also was fond of Charlie's Angels, The A Team, John Cutter in Passenger 57 and Axel Foley in Beverly Hills Cop.
What minority hero, male/female, black white or whatever, did you look up to growing up?

My father.
And it’s ‘heroes’, not ’heros’.

My late mother was my biggest hero.
I suck as spllllling too. So shoot me.
Funny how you didn’t mention her in your opener.
It isn’t so much that you suck at spelling as it is that you aren’t willing to do anything about it.

No heroes. Looked up/admired to list is to long.

I had to laugh that you mentioned the fictional A-Team. It was a silly TV series but it definitely had some moments when you clench your fists, laugh out loud and absolutely love the fictional heroes. I started watching this show because of Mr. T but I kept watching it because of George Peppard. Hannibal definitely had it when a plan came together. Awesome character. The real-life actor was a bit of a dick but what can you do?
My real-life hero is without a doubt, Elon Musk. I don't agree with him on every point and in fact think his Mars plan is idiotic. But I am on my knees in admiration for what this man has done. Between his single-handed demonstration of the practicality and superiority of electric propulsion of small vehicles to his amazing demonstrations of the practicality of true re usability of rockets, I think he is the most important person on the planet.
I don't think he is infallible and as I said, I don't agree with him on everything. But he is the closest thing to my real-life hero.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
