So, we'll never see our loved ones again?

No need to be so formal.  'Her Sublime Supremacy, Protector of the Poor, Defender of the Faith, Mistress of The Privy Royale, and Chief Cook and Moggy Washer' will do nicely.

Or, 'Sally'.

What I have asserted is that consciousness doesn't required brain activity, therefore a person still exists while being for all intents and purposes 'clinically dead'.

I suppose you are offering yourself as proof.......

When there is unconsciousness during the dream state, there is still brain activity to indicate that the individual lives. When the individual is dead, there is no brain activity to indicate consciousness. Therefore, consciousness is directly tied to brain activity and that consciousness ceases to exist once there is no longer any brain activity, much in the same way that a flame ceases to exist once it has been extinguished.

Trump support is a great example. Support is the kind of thing that we use to inform us of consciousness in the first place. Are there any dead trump supporters? Have you ever seen a dead person support anything?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

And they knew their recollections were from the period their brain activity wasn't measurable (actual zero brain activity is death) how, exactly? Memories aren't recalled like replaying a tape on a tape player, they're reconstructed and we fill in the gaps with what seems reasonable.

Living people tell us all sorts of things - that's another example of what living people do that informs us of conscious. The dead seem to have far less to say.
