An afterlife would be terrifying for me
August 13, 2020 at 9:59 pm
Haven't posted on here a while so here it goes.
To be honest, the idea of existing forever and ever in either a heaven or a hell would be terrifying to me, because the thought of going on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on X∞ would I think be the worst thing ever, you would have no end, no nothing, even scarier thing to think if in hell. You would be just begging to end it just go back to sleep. I mean, considering this is the only existence I know, I believe that everything has a beginning and end. With eternal darkness/sleep, you wouldn't have feelings of any-sort, because you would be dead, no fear, no sadness, no nothing, you would be at peace.

Might not even take forever. Forced to live apart or as a spectator or wholly removed from everything that we love, here..on this world....we'd be pretty bummed out. Already happens to us here when we're isolated like that. That's the sort of thing you realize when you take this stuff seriously, but to hear the people excited to live forever, or even just a few more months, after death...they're handing out some sort of ghost soma like candy and you've been effectively lobotomized - so.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

What if you're granted the happy kind of dementia or anterograde amnesia?
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Another one of those questions that even a christian is likely to answer in the negative, in this life, when asked. What if they drugged me or hit me over the incorporeal head with a forgetting stick - sounds even worse.

define happy in the case of real dementia. The neuromuscular reflex that cause the face to take on the appearance of an fixed idiot grin?
everlasting life of bliss is the life of an insensate corpse wearing a smiley mask.

You need to bone up on negotiations with the devil. I suggest watching some twilight zone episodes.
Apparently all you want is the equivalent of a coma or lobotomy.

It happens. They just live in the past and appear to experience little to no fear. Content may be a better word than happy.
Dementia is more neuropsychiatric than neuromuscular.

Dementia is more neuropsychiatric than neuromuscular.
But the neuropsychiatric of contentedness in the demented is only inferred from outward neuromuscular behavior. Is the loss of The capacity for inward concern and worry the same as contented? In that case a rock or vegetable is contented.
I would think Real contentedness requires at least subconscious appreciation of possibility, presently unrealized, of disagreeable discontent.
