Funny, I was just thinking that about 15 minutes ago. But it still turned out the real perp was another right wing asshole. Eric Rudolph.

This guy is a 63 year old white guy. If he didn't do it, someone had to have a connection to his personal info and the RV.

I had a black co worker in the kitchen I worked at, who was falsely detained  because the real perp gave his name to the police in place of his real name when he was arrested in a prior stop.

I don't think this is going to be the same though. It is unfortunately easy to swat anyone for any reason.

I think the case of Jewell is that because of the sudden shock to society, everyone wanted a quick solution, and because Jewel seemed too cooperative at the time, investigators locked in on him in a rush.

But in the case of the Boston Bombers, that also did not take long to identify suspects. And they ended up being the real perps.

So what makes you think there won't be a similar 'rush to judgement' in this case?

Want to bet he sold said RV within last 6 months?

If it was a rental - somebody.would have blabbed - and the media would have picked up on it by now.....

The DNA tests give us a name, but not much else. "Anthony Quinn Warner".

Looking back in time, it is amazing how technology has sped up the process.

They will interview family and friends in his history. It may not give a solid motive, but it should give us some indication of the mental state and progress in his life that lead to that.

I dunno.

The media is reporting the owner of the RV was found in the RV - apparently committing suicide while making "a statement".

A few things doesn't add up.

Why the pre-recorded message - and countdown to the explosion?

Wouldn't it be more likely for the guy to scream into a bullhorn?

If he wants to send a message - wouldn't he want his own voice doing it?

......

And - don't the forensics seem awfully rushed? They got DNA virtually overnight?

Here's a REAL biggie --- how do they know he was alive at the time of the blast???

If somebody whacked him - and stuck him in the RV and blew it up - wouldn't that make it an excellent way to cover your tracks??

He was probably too wired to be able to make a comprehensible statement.

but not so wired as to program up the announcement and hook it up to an amplifier and speakers???

It seems like way more work than simply yelling into a microphone.

And again -- why a surrogate voice?? He could have recorded his own voice at an earlier time.

The RV had been parked outside his apartment building for over a week, IIRC.

The FBI has a permanent team who try to think like crazy people. They get rotated when they get too good at it.

Watching live on MSNBC just now. But the link bellow confirms what MSNBC was reporting too.

Reporting that they were able to ID Warner through a combo of two things, a tip, AND the vehicle identification number.
