It's an unethical addiction, vegetables, grains and the like are also delicious.
It's unethical by whose standards? I like veggies and grains too. They are so tasty right next to a huge rare steak. MMMMMM...

Our ego deludes us from reality, it perpetuates and inflicts suffering, the attainment of knowledge could be considered a sensual pleasure, to gain an advantage over others, to benefit from what we've learnt, but with event learning comes knowledge and with life learning comes wisdom, this is just the nature of our being and I do not gain from suffering.

I do not deny happiness, but it is a state of the dualistic mind, and a short lived emotion.
I suppose that could be interpreted to be loosely in line with Buddhist teaching, since the Buddha acknowledged the happiness that comes from life, friendship, family and good health and that the loss of them causes suffering. Yet your tone throughout has been one of "We're all just shit on a shoe and we're all gonna die, so what's the point of anything?" (not a direct quote, of course). Whereas the Buddha's message is predominantly one of hope, of overcoming suffering through a change in one's perception of and attitude to existence, finally to leave the Wheel and acheive Nirvana. Granted, I'm no philosopher - but I can read.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

If you develop an understanding in this philosophical position, you'll know why.

I follow the Four Seals of Dharma, this is inclusive of all Buddhist paths.

Wow, I hadn't spotted that. Thanks for the catch. Cuntsore: it is bullshit like that which is the primary reason that you will never be taken seriously here. As a matter of fact, you should think yourself astonishingly fortunate that I cannot pull your tonsils out through your arse as I would dearly like to do right now. I hereby wash my hands of anything more to do with you. Begone from my sight.

There is some merit to the idea that the way we think of things affects our brain chemistry. I don't dispute that.
The rest of it is bullshit, at least in my case. I can't function well enough to participate in therapy without psychotropic meds, specifically mood stabilizers - strictly speaking, not antidepressants, but they achieve the same goal - stabilize the patient so they can participate in treatment.
Suggesting that anyone with severe depression or another serious mental illness doesn't need meds is criminal stupid. And you know what? If you don't have an MD, PhD or a PsyD with a specialty in psychiatry or psychology, your opinion in the matter means jack shit to me (obviously not referring to you here, FNM).

Ummm... That's not exactly how the song goes. But I think I like your version better.
