The solution will eventually be death.

Everyone willd die from something, but I don't think ringing in the ears is life threatening short term. After the sun expands and fries our planet Keith Richards will simply shrug and wonder why it is warm.

There's no cure for it.  You may be able to lessen the symptoms but it's not going away.

No one said you would die from it.

There can be cures for some types/causes of objective tinnitus.

More like your audiologist failed to explain. Look up the difference between objective and subjective tinnitus. You and I (and the majority of people) have the later.

Hard.... debilitating..... yes.  People think I'm not listening because I can't playback, I tell them to email me, lelz.  Cant get in a bucket without valsalva.

Repeated close small arms fire and a concussive blast.  I need to take asl but I keep putting it off.  Denial, mostly.  I can still sort of hear, fuck you.

You asking because you're wondering what helps?

I’ve been told mine could be fixed with surgery to remove scar tissue in a blood vessel. But since the tinnitus is sporadic at best and there’s a 20% chance that the surgery could result in complete hearing loss in that ear, I’ll live with it.

RE: How many here have constant tinnitus?
I have fairly low-level tinnitus, which I can mentally tune out most of the time and which doesn't particularly annoy me when I do notice it.  It's more of a curiosity than anything.  (It does seem a bit more prominent when I'm tired, though.)

Have listened to and played a lot of music, including in large ensembles, and also have a job that involves listening on headphones for prolonged periods of time, so the exact cause is uncertain.
