From time to time, it is vital to clean your table saw top. If it starts to rust, clean it with mineral spirits. If your workpiece isn’t moving smoothly, clean it with paste wax. If your best bud visits your shop and plunks his canned drink down on your table saw, you can remove those pesky bloodstains with mild detergent.

Get that cast iron antique nickle plated or trade it in on a new one with an aluminum bed...

Wink

He has a SawStop, which the higher end saws have cast iron tops. I also have a SawStop table saw, but it's the portable jobsite saw. It has a powder-coated aluminum table. I'll be upgrading to the 3HP 220V 1Ph saw, soon. Must. Have. More. Power! I should have researched it more and bought the 3HP version the first time.  Doh A little wax once in awhile works fine, here in the desert.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

I have to watch it on my vertical mill and engine lathe which both have steel surfaces prone to rust.... I keep the shop dry - meaning air conditioning when the humidity is up. A coat of full synthetic motor oil helps as well....

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Wtf is stopping you?

I do it on a fixed income... A budget only generous when compareded to the Battaan death march.

I manage to keep 1500 square feet (12 foot overhead) cool with a 110v window shaker mounted thru the wall.

The secret? No windows and a shitload of insulation. 18 inches of blown in overhead. It helps to vent the place before sunrise when it' s cool out. It never reaches 80f.

I can also go 3 days in zero degree weather with no heat and nothing freezes.

I live a fair bit further south, it’d cost me 5 grand to put it in, and a few hundred a month to run. It’s just not in my budget, you know how it is.

Already paying on walk ins, lol. Meanwhile, it’s in the 90’s. I fled north to get out of this sticky shit.
