You wouldn't have to - and it would be foolish..especially with fox - as they've made very clear in defending their talent by claiming that no reasonable person would believe the things they say.
The buck stops somewhere, with someone. People either knowingly spread false claims, or unknowingly spread false claims, but the dissemination of a false claim is just that no matter how you think it got baked up - isn't it?

Fox knows for sure and certain that the rubbish they spread is rubbish. Fox viewers are another matter entirely.

Yes, someone knows that the report didn't say what they reported it did...or..that no one actually read the report. That's spreading a false claim no matter what angle and no matter how many people we're willing to unfairly and inaccurately characterize as incompetent.
Fox knows what it's doing, the employees know who they work for.

Of course they believe the propaganda. It fits their pre-established beliefs. These are the same people taking horse medicine to treat Covid, rather than a vaccine because they're told to. They say ignorance is bliss, that must be why Republicans think they're so happy all the time.
"Tradition" is just a word people use to make themselves feel better about being an asshole.
