It works for me. I'm happy enough. I wouldn't trade my happiness for any amount of empirical evidence.

Ignorance is bliss, so thankfully I'm a critical thinker.

You would rather be a "critical thinker" than be happy? And who are you thanking? Who made you a critical thinker?

When we talk on the phone and she brings up a Fox story and then we discuss it, she will often change her mind when I point out errors or question the details/positions. The next time we talk, and the same issues are brought up, she's back to believing what Fox originally stated.

Bottom line, if you only take in one news source, the Fox viewers can believe and be indoctrinated. She's old and frightened of the world and change. Unfortunately she also votes, every time, straight down the Fox party line.

I think you hit all the pertinent points here.  There are now millions of Americans who fit this description, many of whom were once somewhat centrist.  Lots of them voted for Clinton and Obama.  When one media outlet claims to be the only source of real news, charges all others as being extremely biased, then feeds it's viewers a steady stream of extreme biased information, it's a perfect storm of mass indoctrination.  Their mantra is facts don't matter and you can say anything you want; no one will stop you.

Happiness is best experienced naturally than forced by faith.

Or perhaps, instead of misinterpreting, he simply formed his own opinion, an opinion that you don't agree with?

Facts are not opinions.

Reporting a known untruth is called lying.  There is a valid place for editorializing and all news shows have those segments.  Going on air and supposedly reading from a medical organization's website, but stating blatantly false information is call LYING.  You simply cannot get around this.

As a Christian, I suppose you approve of lying.  Why not, your entire book is an ancient lie.

If you went into a store and picked up a drink and walked out with it without paying and a police officer stopped you as you walked out the door and asked if you paid for that drink and you said of course you did, what would you call that?  It's called a lie.  So stop with this inane bullshit.  This is what people like you do all the time, dodge, move the goal, shift the blame, rationalize, pretend, just about anything that gets you out of the hotspot when you've been identified for what you are, a fraud.

My faith is natural and easy. I do not have to do certain things, or tell myself certain things, to make myself happy. I'm just happy.

I don't much care for the major players in cable news. It's no longer enough to report the news any more, now it needs to be infotainment for ratings. They may report the news, but then go on to pontificate about the news item (often with talking heads) telling the viewer how they should think or feel.

Have you noticed how much politics dominates their news cycles?
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

@Ahriman I'm done with discussing this with you. You're not an honest person, at least not in how you address facts and information. You may be honestly stating what you believe, but if that's the case you're ignorant beyond belief and in that case I have no interest in discussing something with you that you clearly have no capacity to understand.

Unfortunately yes.  But they are just responding to what people are interested in.  Often times we see that the very basis of our society and culture is the key to our own sickness.  Like genetic mutation is the key to evolution and cancer.
