Superman was essentially a rip-off of Doc Savage, ‘The Man of Bronze’ , so-called because of his skin colour (you can say ‘inspired by’ instead of ‘rip-off’ if you like, I shan’t quibble). -Man of Bronze/Man of Steel. -Both had famous, powerful fathers. -Both operated out of New York City (Metroplis IS New York). -Both were medical and scientific geniuses. -Both had a Fortress of Solitude, located in the Arctic. -Both fought crime. -Savage was frequently referred to as ‘a Superman’ in newspapers. Lots of other similarities. Siegel and Shuster simply filed off the serial numbers, changed the body lines just enough to keep it out of court, and viola! Superman. Boru

Oh, I understand. I didn't know Doc Savage was known as the man of bronze. Yeah, not surprised. In reality, there are few creative things that don't have precedents. We could trace most of this stuff all the way back to the beginning of human history.
I just though there are probably some Greeks rolling in their grave at how Marvel and Disney have depicted Hercules.

That's interesting. Where did that image projection power appear? I'm guessing back in the Golden Age.
The power I've always had a problem with is super cold breath. I could accept super force breath maybe, but not cold. His breath should be warm just like any living person because it originates in his lungs. And I could accept the he could expel his breath faster than any human, but his lung capacity shouldn't be much more than mine because his lungs only have so much volume. So it would be more like a high pressure pulse, not a minutes long exhale. By comic book logic Superman should be able to cut open a vein and fill up a stadium with is own blood. And yes, I know how silly it sounds.
