Also, he didn't consent to the Kents being his parents so why does he owe them anything by your logic?
What can I say? Bullshit.
He was baby and need to be protected. He especially needed to be protected from the rest of humanity who would have exploited him and probably tried to kill him for being so different.
Yes, things happened to him a baby as it did to all of us that he might not have chosen if we had a choice.. I've read claims from psychologists that we owe our parents nothing either. The link below was found after a short search. It seems to be a widely held view. I'm not claiming it's necessarily true, only that it's different view from the one you seem to hold.
There's a lot of stuff online about this topic. I found it interesting but confusing. My position is that I owe my parents a great deal for the things they did for for me, for the sacrifices they made for me.. I owe them nothing for the things they did to me which did my head in.

Only for preschoolers. This is a comic book/superhero character. You don't get marketing at all.

My position is that I owe my parents a great deal for the things they did for for me, for the sacrifices they made for me.. I owe them nothing for the things they did to me which did my head in. There wasn't a single instance in the cannon of superman where he was in any danger of being exploited or needed to be protected from humanity and again my point was if he doesn't owe his adopted homeworld anything why would he owe his step-parents anything.

The "a better tomorrow" is a bit bland to me, but it's no worse than "The American Way", which is about as vague as you can get. What is "The American Way"? And it was added during a time of war when there were enemies perceived everywhere, so it was clearly a form of propaganda. And this isn't the first time this approach has been taken with the character. There have been multiple attempts over the years to expand Superman's scope to be more global, but they have mostly fallen flat due to poor execution.

You really want to anger the bigots? Drastically increase the melanin in Superman's skin.

The Hulk shows up in a buncha different colours, I see no reason Superman shouldn’t (not everyone gets this, but Supe’s original skin tone was bronze).

Where did you hear that?
Here's a very science-y article explaining why its logical for Superman's skin to be dark, based on how his powers work.
That's true about the Hulk's different colors, but because they were all non-human colors like gray, green, red...it didn't come across as being related to "race" so there was no objection. My personal favorite was gray, which was the original color.
