Hello. I’m new here. I’m a believer in God. In Jesus more specifically. 
In this topic I’d like to discuss some definitions and where this leads you as a person. 

Can you please describe what and where you are in a belief system? Or no belief system? Or lack of belief?

Once you’ve answered that, can you please answer the following: What can you tell me about souls and the existence of an afterlife?

I can tell you that you need to work on your title.

I have no beliefs with respect to the divine. As such it is a wee bit difficult to organize this lack of belief into a system.

I don't believe in the soul. It appears to be an attempt by early, superstitious humans to explain the human mind. It is slightly less useful than phlogiston or the luminiferous aether.

Life after death is a contradiction. Death is the end of life, so the term "afterlife" is without meaning. It's a bit like wondering what kind of knots you can tie in a rope beyond the end of the rope.

In my experience, the work has already been done by the time we get em here.  I wonder what it could be that reliably does that to so many people?  It's almost as if there's some force or movement out there assuring shitty people that dumb things are true, not just dumb things about gods or the universe in general..but dumb things about people who don't believe in them as well.

Any ideas on what that might be?
