RE: RIP thread
Peter Scolari - Tom Hanks has lost a bosom buddy

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Even if you look at the Beatles performing the song "Yesterday" live you can hear him play although he is not on the stage

Unless Ken Essex was also a member of the CBS orchestra, no, you can't. Essex performed on the studio version, but it was the Ed Sullivan Show's studio orchestra that did the backing for that show.

Jay Black of Jay And The Americans has died at age 82. He continued to perform until relatively recently, with an amazing amount of his amazing voice still intact.

The other day I was pleased to see a favourite early satirist, Tom Lehrer, is still alive. He's 93.

A favourite ditty:

A tough choice. I also really like "Poisoning Pigeons In The Park"

Having studied a lot of math, I'm partial to "Lobachesky".
