It's beginning to seem that old Kyle is a matter of if it looks like a duck, waddles like a duck and quacks like a duck--------

Also beginning to look as if Kyle is fortunate the US legal system does not allow for double jeopardy.

Um he can still face federal charges. But just like OJ got off on a double murder charge, he was still found liable in a civil suit. Not sure what the odds are of federal charges are, but lawsuits have been filed in civil court in this case.

This brings up a long term issue for me, long before this case, for decades.

I don't like the oversimplification of "not guilty". Often has been the case, jurors get interviewed after the fact and say, "we didn't say the accused was innocent, but only in that the state failed to prove it's case".

I'd bet my life that you could at least find a couple of jurors in this case who would want to slap the shit out of Kyle, but because the state fucked up their presentation, they had no choice. But again, it also did not help that the judge seemed to act more like a defense lawyer than a neutral judge.

ISTR, there were some court cases about this last year, and it may not be possible to try for federal charges after being acquitted on a similar state charge.

(Bold mine)

Federal charges for what, exactly? As I understand it, murder is not a federal crime except in very special circumstances, none of which apply to Rittenhouse. And, since he’s not a government official or a member of law enforcement, charging him with civil rights violations is going to be all but impossible.

37 wants a " do over".

They were all charged up about the heavy charges against Rittenhouse with no regard to actually getting a conviction.

That' s the gamble ya take.

The prosecutor bet big - and crapped out.

Is there going to be a parade? If so, it would be elegantly ironic if Rittenhouse was shot and killed during it. The shooter could claim self-defense, since Rittenhouse is an admitted killer of human beings and therefore poses an imminent danger.

I'm positive the good people of Kenosha will reward him. After all, he did respond to their call for "patriots willing to take up arms and defend Kenosha" on facebook.
