I am a polyamorous mathematician who likes to learn things. The number 257 is a Fermat prime.

I looked up Fermat primes, and was saddened that 256^2 + 1 was not prime. Those kind of facts are why I dug into math as a kid. Now that I'm old, I've forgotten most of it.    Use it or lose it is so true.

Actually, 256^2 +1 =65537 *is* prime. The next one, 65536^2 +1 is not.

Yeah. Lover of lobsters is the content of the username. But what does that mean? Do you love lobsters so much that you oppose the killing and eating of them? -OR- Do you love the taste of their muscle tissue, especially when dipped in drawn butter?

That's two very different takes on the concept "lover of lobsters."

Well it could be either or neither of those (there are many ways to love something).

However, that was not specified. The point is that I love lobsters. That is what the username means. That I love lobsters. The form of love is unspecified.

I changed my username. I tried to change it to simply L but it needed to be at least 3 characters long. Hence The L.

What does my username mean? It's simply a character from the anime Deathnote. A character that I identify with a great deal.
