teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

"Following the Bible is what I think of when I think of Trump." And Trump is not only the embodiment of the Bible but also the Hindu religion as well. He is a messiah across all religions. Trump hosted the Republican Hindu Coalition at Mar-a-Lago.

One idea religious fundamentalists seem to love is the idea that ancestors were so dumb they couldn't make simple observations and inferences and therefore only divine revelation could explain whatever phenomenon they want to claim their holy book knew before science. This is both absurd and insulting. Our ancestors believed in sorts of crazy shit but they were not totally ignorant or totally dumb.

Adam and Eve didn't die the same day they ate the forbidden fruit, but they did die spiritually!
Jesus didn't come back during the lifetime of his listeners, but he did come back spiritually! No, you can't really move mountains with just your faith, but you can move mountains spiritually!
