Not so much with music, but I frequently have a similar experience with poetry. If I switch abruptly from reading poetry to reading prose, my brain keeps trying to find a metre in the prose when there isn’t one.

You do that too?  Sometimes I have to force myself to eat after realizing I haven't in a day or two.

I have never been one to think that I have to eat at this time and that time and this time.

I used to work with a woman who arrived in the morning already planning where she was going to get lunch.  Boggled my mind.  I am just not obsessed with food and would gladly take a pill like The Jetsons did.

For them, I think it just becomes a part of their routine. One woman at work always brings her midnight meal and eats it at the beginning of the shift.
