South Dakota Passes First Law That Will Force Trans Kids to Detransition

South Dakota is now the first state to pass legislation that would effectively force trans kids to detransition. The legislation, which marks the second state this year to attack healthcare for trans people, bans all gender-affirming care for patients under 18 years of age.

On Monday, notoriously pro-NRA and anti-trans rights Gov. Kristi Noem ® signed the bill into law, according to Vice. Though all bans regarding trans healthcare have been irreparably harmful, South Dakota’s law is explicitly violent and the first of its kind: Healthcare professionals have until the end of the year to stop treatment for patients currently receiving gender-affirming care, from hormone therapy and surgery to puberty blockers. Doctors who don’t comply will be at risk of losing their medical license or could be sued.

Nazi salutes, pepper spray and pistols: Ohio drag event devolves into an extremist melee

Amid the national showdown over drag performances and transgender rights, a storytelling event in a city park in northern Ohio became the latest flashpoint, fueled by demonstrators who waved swastika flags and shouted "Seig heil" before a melee that led to two arrests.

Hundreds of protesters, including armed white supremacists, members of several extremist groups and LGBTQ community supporters descended on Wadsworth, Ohio, a small town outside Akron, for a drag queen storytelling show that had been moved from a private venue.

White supremacist protestors shouted "Heil Hitler" and made Nazi salutes outside the event while pro-LGBTQ counterprotesters chanted, confronted the far-right agitators and wielded rainbow-colored parasols as a sort of shield for attendees.

Toward the end of the four-hour event, two people charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct were arrested after a series of melees involving pepper spray, the violent use of a flag pole as a weapon and a protester who unnerved witnesses who said he pointed a gun at a crowd.

The face-off fits within a larger national pattern of rhetoric and threats surrounding drag events. They start with unfounded or unproven allegations that drag shows "groom" children for sex abuse and have led to escalating violence and clashes in communities nationwide.

Extremist far-right groups including the Proud Boys, Patriot Front, White Lives Matter and other white supremacists have glommed onto the anti-drag cause over the last couple of years. The weekend's event in Ohio featured a full range of these groups.

It seems like Christina's kind of hung up on the issue of young people on the autism spectrum disorder undergoing turmoil in their lives, knowing that something is wrong, but not knowing what, and somehow being convinced that the issue is their gender identity and not their mind working differently. As someone who's on the spectrum himself, this idea is bizarre to me. And, if this video by an autistic creator is any indication, I'm not even close to alone.





To be fair, Christina's spoken to a lot of people who've been in the scenario she's been concerned about, and she is autistic herself, but those particular data points don't necessarily make it the sort of huge trend to be taken seriously as she does. Hell, I could probably find a couple dozen men who've been falsely accused of rape and listen to their stories, acknowledge their pain is valid, but that doesn't make the concerns of men and women who actually were sexually assaulted any less valid, especially when the rape victims almost certainly outnumber the falsely accused by several orders of magnitude.

But the most disturbing thing about these people is, they think freely and are not confined to the glorious teachings of scientifically inept goat fucking troglodytes.

 It was a mundane, unanimously supported bill on liquor taxation that saw state Sen. Machaela Cavanaugh take to the mic on the Nebraska Legislature floor last week. She offered her support, then spent the next three days discussing everything but the bill, including her favorite Girl Scout cookies, Omaha’s best doughnuts and the plot of the animated movie “Madagascar.”

“If this Legislature collectively decides that legislating hate against children is our priority, then I am going to make it painful — painful for everyone,” the Omaha married mother of three said. “I will burn the session to the ground over this bill.”

Eden Knight: Saudi trans woman dies by suicide after being ‘forced to de-transition’

Knight, 23, who lived in the US until last year, said in a Twitter post on Monday – seemingly scheduled in advance – that she had killed herself after being pressured into returning to Saudi Arabia, then denied access to her hormone medication.

The post alleged that her parents hired American “fixers” and a Saudi lawyer to take her back to the Middle East kingdom, where trans people face severe discrimination.
