What are you bigest reasones for not believing in the Quran only?

Quote:Peace. Well. If you people don't believe that the hadith wich ate the so called source of the history of Muhammad then you should agree that's imoral and that you and many others are falsely acusing him of things he probably never did.

You seem to have trouble understanding that I consider your boy to be a MYTH. I do not "falsely accuse" MYTHS of anything.

I wonder about the intelligence, morality, and integrity of people who go out of their way to praise these flawed characters that they have invented to worship but that wonder is directed at YOU....not your non-existent god or his equally phony "prophet."

Pel, what evidence do you have that hadith is wrong and the ass-wiping koran is right? I need proofs, mate.

Peace. What do you think? If I could provide you with some sort if evidence, would you accept it? Would you start praying three times a day after you would get the Quran?

If I was to give you what I know to be evidence would you swear? Would you use foul language in your attacks or would you respectfully debate?

I don't want to fight any wars that I don't have to. Remember according to the Quran you are not to start first.

Another question. Is me giving you( this forum) evidence or what I know to be evidence what God would want from me, that's acording to Quran?

Thanks

Don't go thinking that I am trying to offend anyone. These are the thoughts that came to mind.

If there were actual evidence of Christianity's version of God, Islam's version of God, or even my former Wiccan version of Goddess and God, then any belief in religion would cease being faith and become science.

At that point, there would not be much need for religious faith, as we could pigeonhole God into a scientific structure and treat him/her/it/they as we do gravity, or evolution, or relativity. We could poke and prod and experiment, and there would not then be much need to call it/they/her/him God/dess at all, would there?

If I believe in the Koran only, I will be only one holy book, ie a neligible distance, away from being as bad as christians.

Perhaps a better question Pel, is why do you accept the koran but reject everything else? Could it be that you have grown up with people telling you that you should and your devotion is nothing more than "doing what you have been told?"

Pel, what did you think of my summary of Islam? Does it help explain why I don't believe?

I loved it, D-P. Very succinct.

But don't assume that Pel is any worse than the xtian assholes we have around here. They are all cut from the same cloth.

Because revelation is indistinguishable from fiction. It's not the Qur'an in particular that I don't believe, its all texts based on revelations, visions, conversations with supernatural beings, and so on. There's no good reason to believe any of it is genuine.

Peace Chuck and everyone else. The following is from the Quran and its about Christians and Jews.

Not all of them are alike; a party of the people of the Book stand for the right, they recite the Verses of God during the hours of the night, prostrating themselves in prayer. They believe in God and the Last Day; they enjoin good and forbid wrong; and they hasten in good works; and they are among the righteous. And whatever good they do, nothing will be rejected of them; for God knows well those who are God fearing. 3:113-115

And there are, certainly, among the people of the Book, those who believe in God and in that which has been revealed to you, and in that which has been revealed to them, humbling themselves before God. They do not sell the Verses of God for a little price, for them is a reward with their Lord. Surely, God is Swift in account. 3:199

Verily! Those who believe and those who are Jews and Christians, and Sabians, whoever believes in God and the Last Day and do righteous good deeds shall have their reward with their Lord, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve . 2:62

If any do deeds of righteousness,- be they male or female - and have faith, they will enter Heaven, and not the least injustice will be done to them 4.124

I have said things against the Quran in the past. Just ask Rayaan on this forum. He can tell you. At one stage while I was on antidepressants I started thinking that I am an atheist. So I read the God delusion by Dawkins, God is not great from Hitchens and I have watched quite a few videos of you tube of them and Dan Dennet and whatever else. I was into other beliefs at some stages. I was a seeker of the truth. No, I wasn't all the time a Muslim. I was a Sunni in the past, but now I am not. I have argued against monotheistic beliefs in the past.

I am pretty sure that my reasons for believing in a monotheistic God are because I really believe in him.

Thanks
