Attagirl, Laura - make the Democrats sound even MORE attractive.

In the meantime, she has to defend insurrection, bigotry, and nascent authoritarianism. I know what hill I'd fight for.
It ain't hers.

Ken Paxton's impeachment trial got started today. In what could be an encouraging sign for the prosecution, all pretrial motions but one failed with at least 2/3 (21/31) of jurors (TX senators) voting against Pax. The other passed 20-10 (Mrs. Ken Paxton, a senator, is counted as "present."
The man is pure scum, indicted for securities fraud, scandals about using his position to help a donor, the ridiculous SCOTUS suit he brought alleging that how Pennsylvania votes somehow impacts Texas (tossed for lack of standing).
The GOP has a comfortable majority in the TX senate so we'll need to wait and see whether they choose party or principle.

In normal times, the Supreme Court handing two high profile losses to the GOP would have settled much of the remaining lower court docket related to redistricting. We don’t live in normal times...

One other thing I would like to say about the Republicans/GOP is this...
I think instead of being conservative, most of the Republicans int he United States have become reactionary. For those who don't know what that is, reactionary is about regression, regressing back to the times of the past rather than moving forward. It is the opposite of being radical, or wanting extreme change. I feel most Republicans want the United States to go back to the past, where racism and bigotry was more prevalent, among other things. Kind of like how Putin, president of Russia, or Putin Head (Puddin' head) as I like to personally call him, wants Russia to go back to the days of the Soviet Union.
You see what I mean here? I don't think the Republicans even realize that they are being reactionary, not that they'd care, but still.

Mike Huckabee: If Trump Doesn't Win, Next Election Will Be Decided by Bullets
Mike Huckabee went on his most episode of "Huckabee" on Saturday and told the audience that dictatorships, banana republics and communist regimes prosecute and jail their political opponents. He then said that Joe Biden "is using those tactics" to defeat Trump in 2024.
Huckabee then said that if Trump doesn't win the 2024 election because of his court cases "it is going to be the last American election that will be decided by ballots rather than bullets."

They complain about regimes that prosecute and jail their political opponents, but, at the same time, they worship Putin who actually does those things, and they want to kill their political opponents because they can not win.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

What Huckabee said is just made up. He is just being desperate. And hypocritical. What do he and the other republicans think they are, gods? Because they sure think they are exempt from hypocrisy and think they are that much above the law (and reality) that it is okay for them to do what they do and others can't. It's like accepting god's word or what "he" tells people tells others what to do even though it is definitely wrong. Plus, the republicans thinking like that is just an example of inequality, perhaps even injustice too. They are so self-centered.
