Something else I want to say to expand on what I said about republicans being reactionaries...
The term, conservative, technically means wanting things to remain the same. Thing is, the republicans are not being conservative today, as they are being reactionary like I described before. Considering how life should be about going forward and not regressing, I think the republicans are failing at their job of being conservative here. I think it has to do not only with the fact that minds are harder to change when people get older, but the republicans who were conservative back then during times like the Civil Rights Movement and all those things, they remained the same people they were with the same wants they had to the point where they did not, and never caught up with the current way of thinking most people are supposed to have today, meaning they were left behind in that way of thinking, and thus, instead of conserving what changes took place after such events that should be preserved today, those republicans literally stayed with the old way of thinking to the point of becoming reactionary people, as they did not accept the new changes that society is supposed to go through. It doesn't help that such people teach their children this way of thinking too to maintain and keep alive this pitiful way of thinking that is so outdated and so bad. So basically, the conservative become the reactionaries here.
You'll probably enjoy this. Other folks have noticed that maga is a reactionary movement.

Cassidy Hutchinson, 27, ex-Trump aide claims Rudy Giuliani, 79, groped her on day of Jan 6 riots
January 6 Committee hearings, alleges 79-year-old Giuliani put his hand 'under my blazer, then my skirt' and was like a 'wolf closing in on his prey'. The former New York Mayor 'fingered the fabric' and said, 'I’m loving this leather jacket on you', she claims in the explosive book. Hutchinson then describes feeling 'his frozen fingers trail up my thigh'. Giuliani dismissed the accusation as a 'disgusting lie'. Ted Goodman, a political advisor to the former Mayor, said: 'It's fair to ask Cassidy Hutchinson why she is just now coming out with these allegations from two and a half years ago, as part of the marketing campaign for her upcoming book release. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article...d-her.html
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
