If you're a Canadian vacationing in America and you suddenly find yourself needing extensive health care in a hospital, does the universal health care carry over or are you screwed?

Yes, but you must use providers previously vetted by Canadian authorities, and you must have been in the U.S.A. for less than some time period that is specific to the province of origin.

I suspect that your management leans on you because your co-workers don't do their jobs properly. BTDTGTTS. I don't have a solution for this. I tolerated it for decades until I could retire. It was one happy day when I found that out, because I truly never expected to retire, but to die first.
