The whole concept of geologic phenomena being 'overdue' is a pretty flawed concept to begin with.
That's why I used single quotes.
Calling a geologic event overdue is merely stating that it has fallen long of the geologic average for such an event, in a certain area. The Yellowstone caldera is also 'overdue,' having remained quiescent for longer than average. It's still within the longest time frames and showing no indications that any major event is likely, despite a few fear mongering 'what if...' Youtube videos.

It's a statistical concept, and sure, the Earth doesn't play well with statistics. But Raven's point about pent-up energy is very valid. Of course, there might be minor, unfelt earthquakes happening there right now which are relieving those built-up tensions. But while no relief of tension is happening, then yes, that contained energy will work to get set free. There's some fairness to due-for thinking in tectonics, because plates are a solid that will store energy, and tension.
I've lived in earthquake country and tornado country. I prefer tornado country, because I can get some notice from watching the weather, Doppler radar, and so on. I've been on the fringes of four big (6.0+) earthquakes, and the scariest thing for me is that 1) you don't know when they will stop amping up, and 2) you can't really hide from an earthquake.

We don't disagree. in the context our satanic friend brought it up in - that is, suitability for habitation - it's useless.

In a shock to no one, Rudy Guiliani is trying to hide his assets by moving them out of NY ahead of creditors. The rat.

Not to worry, I’m sure Trump’s pet judges will find a way to allow it.
