Well, the incident happened over a year ago, and there's been no sign of the offending employee since.

The real inroy is that in democratic countries with free speech, one can "say anything, anywhere, at any given time", it's just that some people are actually ignorant or stupid enough to act suprised that there might be legal consequences. Then get all bent out of shape, as if they're living in a police state, and such laws are something new and sinister.

Appreciate the honest answers.
If accountability simply wasn't an option - regardless how far up the totem pole you go, the bosses don't see it as being offensive - I would guess you would quit the company at that point?
I also have to ask, how would you define racism offensive enough to go to a boss over? What would be a general rule of thumb for when it crosses the line and becomes an offense?
