Not to make light of her many troubles, but she couldn’t have made that song the gut-wrencher that she did without her whiskey voice.

Aga Khan, a deity & a businessman has died.

From his wiki

Quote:Prince Karim Al-Husseini, known as the Aga Khan IV was the 49th imam of Nizari Isma'ilis. He held the position of Imam and the title of Aga Khan from 1957 to 2025. The Aga Khan claims direct lineal descent from the Islamic prophet Muhammad.

Ismailis gave Ali and their Imams a near-divine status. His grandfather, Aga Khan III, stated in his memoirs that the Shias had a "need for Divine guidance" after the Prophet of Islam's death, this need being fulfilled by the Imamate.

According to the Aga Khan III as mentioned in his memoirs, he has actual "Divine power, guidance, and leadership (authority)."

The Aga Khan was a business magnate with British and Portuguese citizenship, as well as a racehorse owner and breeder. Hiss net worth was estimated over US$13.3 billion by Vanity Fair in 2013.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I'm sure this matters to someone.

I don't care, I just think it's funny.

You left out this bit:

Quote:The Aga Khan was the founder and chairman of the Aga Khan Development Network, which coordinates the activities of over 200 agencies and institutions, employing approximately 80,000 paid staff, the majority of whom are based in developing countries.[71]AKDN is partly funded by his followers and donor partners that include numerous governments and several international organisations. AKDN agencies operate in the fields of health, education, culture, rural development, institution-building and the promotion of economic development, with a special focus on countries of the Developing Nations. It is dedicated to improving living conditions and opportunities for the poor, without regard to their faith, origin or sex.[72]

Regardless of how ‘funny’ you think it is, he was one of the good ones.

That is nice of him, but I can't see billionaires who present themselves as deities and claim to be descendants of Mohamed as anything but shady.

For example, there was a notorious affair involving him and Canadian PM Trudeau where Khan was secretly giving him gifts on his private island while Canada gave Khan $50 million.
