The torpedo bat in baseball is the same physics as cupping the end or the bat (drilling a hole in the distal end of the bat to remove distal mass). No need for excitement. I used a cupped wood bat when I played semipro back in the early 2000s.

I am pretty certain my cat is psychic. I looked for him a few minutes ago...just looking around his usual sleeping spots in the living room. For a second I wondered if he got out of the house when I carried a misdelivered package next door. I didn't say anything, I didn't walk around...and suddenly he hopped up on the footrest in front of me and started headbutting my hand and arm. Kinda freaky.
