Yeah, that's the issue. They are large birds which swallow their prey whole. A brown pelican weighs about 7 lbs yet swallows fish which would choke a human. Their digestive system needs to handle solid bones. Pelican stuff is substantial and nasty.
Wonderful, graceful fliers though. Just don't be under them when they do their business.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

There's a posh area in South Belfast called Malone Road. You know the kind - pricey homes, snooty people, yada yada.
Years ago, the richers got together and decided that releasing peacocks throughout the neighbourhood would add the just right note of more-money-than-brains. The experiment lasted about two weeks, because it turns out that not only do peacocks actively prefer to shit on cars, they will also try to bury the poo that they've just left on the bonnet of a high-end Bentley or Aston Martin. Scratchy scratchy.

Crazy bird story most people probably don't know. I was born on the Outer Banks of NC. Seagulls were making the highway slippery as they were dropping crabs and other crustaceans on the road to break them open to more easily get to the meat inside. The state painted seagulls on Highway 12 thinking that a gull wouldn't drop their bounty onto another gull. That didn't really work all that well so the gull painting eventually just wore away and weren't replaced.

Alon Abutbul. Israeli actor. I like these kinds of actors who on paper have an impressive career. He played in movies directed by Stallone, Spielberg, Nolan, and Ridley Scott.
