Ruby Sparks (2012)
I was drawn toward this movie when I saw that a woman/ main actress wrote it because the premise is a typical male fantasy: a lonely guy imagines a perfect girlfriend and she comes to life. Basically a horny Ontological Argument. I was wondering where she would go with this, but it seems not far: she comes to life so that she can cook for him, they could go out to dance, and he could introduce her to his hippie parents - archetypical girlfriend stuff. And then, near the end, they remember that she's made up and that they better do something about it, and it turns out that just like people can't imagine a perfect god, they can't imagine a perfect girlfriend.

A movie recommended by a critic as a "modern classic". Young Europeans doing young people's stuff, bored by not having to worry about the existential problems in life. So it's a movie about characters you don't care about and wonder when this movie will end already.
