Well, the bible is rather a fascinating book.
I enjoy reading the bible. Most important book?
If I were a Christian, I'd say so too. What else could you expect, really?

A dictionary is also a fascinating book, and when you're done reading it you've actually learned something.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I agree. Certainly fascinating. Same with the Qur'an. As far as importance. As much as it is fictional it has influenced the entire world I think that's reason enough to have a gander.
Besides I wouldn't feel right criticizing a book I never even attempted to read.

That too lol.
But what I mean is we all learn Shakespeare at school because of the influence over our cultures and language. The bible as much as its full of crap and has done more harm than good. It has still had a greater effect on the world, language and culture than Shakespeare.

They are actions not books. The book should not be ignored because of the actions of the people that read it. People have murdered after films, books and even video games. You can't just throw out everything when it happens.
Personally I think its worth reading just on account of understanding the views and beliefs that were behind the building of our culture and laws. I'm not saying people have to read it. I just think its worth a look based on that alone.

I've learnt a thing or two by reading the bible. Actually more, even so. Maybe not something practical that I can use in life, but a quote, but a lesson, but something else.
Quote:You really need to get out more mehmet
Why do you say that?

What exactly is your problem, friend? Why are you so hostile towards the bible, I mean?
What really is your problem?
Quote:So has barbarity, murder, rape and greed...so what??
Meaning nothing has changed ever since?
True, it didn't. But not due to Christianity/Judaism.
