The point is, lacking the portion of the brain that provides higher cognitive functions, a person is not a person.

Thoughts are about something Phil, yes they're made up of electrical impulses but these electrical impulses serve a purpose to carry and store information that makes us who we are. If the equipment to send, carry, or recieve these is damaged then little or no sense of self can be established.
Is this incorrect?
