Oh wow, glad I stayed up alittle longer. Thought I'd take a quick look and was pleasently suprised, thank you. Really.
Isn't mass-derailing against the rules? If you really wanted to be thorough you could argue that counts as spam too.
The fact hes done it subtly shouldn't be seen as something in his favor, it should be met with no less contempt than the average troll if not more.
Should a new rule be made about baiting then? No. Baiting is often used in arguements and debates, it can't be banned because its simply another tool to be used. However, in the many posts Mehmet baited people his intent was clear; to derail the thread onto the completely unrelated subject of his country. To spark animousity toward himself by implying our nations are somehow inferior, thereby making himself the center of attention and giving himself complete control over the subject matter. You could argue that people could of just ignored it but the reality is most didn't and as a result the subject was changed to one of Mehmets choosing almost everytime.
In conclusion, to prevent this from happening I would suggest what is needed is not a new rule but an addition to an existing rule:
"Anyone found to be intentionally baiting others onto a specific subject in numerous threads will be seen as derailing and will recieve a warning, failiure to heed that warning will result in condemnation, failiure to heed that condemnation will result in banning."
Or something similar, just a suggestion. It would obviously have to involve some judicial discretion but yeah just glad somethings being done. Cheers.
Anyway, 3am here. Insomnias a bitch so yeah, night everyone.

RD, you know, derailing and ninjaing a thread happens all the time and Mehmet isn't the only culprit. I distinctly remember my introduction thread being hijacked by boobs. Assuredly it's a more pleasant topic than nationalism, but shit like that happens, use ignore.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

How is Mehmet's derailing any different from your going into every active thread and inquiring as to who wants a pipe? It's just as off-topic.

Mass-derailing cannot be done by one person; it involves many. As Shell said, if mehmet starts talking about nationalism, ignore him. Don't respond, and the conversation won't get derailed. It really is that simple. If for some reason people find it hard to ignore his posts on their own, they can get the forum to do it for them.
I don't think it counts as spam. It's a valid opinion, you just don't happen to like it.

I don't mind Kilics rampant nationalism so much, because he at least is willing to argue his point of view rather than declare an unsubstantiated point of view. It allows you to consider his arguments and think about WHY you disagree with him, rather than just asserting "racism is wrong mmmkay".
If I don't feel like engaging with him, simply because the opinion isn't worth commenting on or its non-sequitor to the discussion in hand, then I don't, it's not a big deal. He has his worldview, and as famously say, I don't agree with him, but I will defend his right to say it to the death.

Big blow outs are so fascinating though
Let mass derailing be... how could I even post if I can't derail randomly in the middle of my response?
It's like that one time when I was having an awesome conversation about sex (good luck finding that!). I mean really, a girl needs a map to locate such communications, or at least someone to ask directions of. Coconuts suck at giving directions. Last time I got directions from a coconut: it viciously tore out my eyeballs, because it was a coconut fish in disguise, and I hadn't eaten any jellybeans in the last 10 hours. Truly an oversite on my part, I had forgotten that coconut fish could be found in bathtubs (if they are filled with water).
And now I have a strange desire to slap myself 4 times a day. Experts aren't yet sure why. But then, since when were weathermen ever certain of what they had for breakfast that night? Damn English and their biscuits. Throws of my sense of day like an absence of snow throws off my sense of year. Not that I ever made any sense in a year... another thing we can blame the British for. It's those damn red coats they wear. They make me jealous. This white jacket totally doesn't fit me... because I'm not straight. This is more bullshit than a corset... at least that would exaggerate my curves while making me unable to breath. My sister tells me to stop for breath sometimes. So does my girlfriend. This is because I can talk and talk and talk and never actually take a breath since I'm saying so much so fast and it's actually kinda frantic and it can be hard to hear but I STILL LOVE HUGS.
*breathes*
As I said... I couldn't post. It would be like removing the wiggle from Lilly. Anyone remember when Violet didn't wiggle? Yeah... that was no fun. Marvel VS Capcom 3 is a load of mindless fun ^_^ BANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBAG! I am suddenly become a fan of Deadpool. He's so fun
* Violet gives her Shelly a hug.
If there is any Shellspiracy... it had better be of Game of Thrones
Now just who else on this damn forum can do ^that^? Nobody? That's fucking right!

My point is that it doesn't matter if you or I take him up on it, someone always does and while many people are guilty of derailing there is only one I can think of who derails to one subject as much as in this case. Derailing every thread you can to one particular subject isn't just undeniably disruptive, its an imposition on everyone involved.
If I ever decide to highjack 7+ threads in a row to a lengthy discussion on boobs you have my full backing in condemning me. You'd be hardpressed to find people who'd done any such thing because most people understand that this isn't a forum where we discuss just one subject all day, everyday. In shoving other subjects to one side he silences any new discussion that could have emerged, instead we are forced to read the same tired rant over and over.
I think the subjects discussed in these threads deserve more consideration than to be shunted aside by one mans see-through agenda with an audacity that borders on a contempt for new ideas. That is my objection and it is a valid one.

That would be me. And yes, it is almost always related to some shallow vice.
I don't deny its disruption or imposition. I do it because we need a little eruption of excitement now and again, and to do that you must be in position.

Funfact... we discuss pretty much just one subject all day, every day. Find me a thread that hasn't yet had a sexual reference put into it, that isn't locked... and I will add one for sake of consistency.

* Violet has only one regular rant. The few others would be the harmony to the song.

I've heard of see-through bras, panties, shirts, and glass... but I've never heard of a see-through agenda before. This I've gotta see... through
What is a valid objection? That sounds much like an invalid proposal to me. There is no such being as 'no'!

What he does isn't achieved by a simple reference and even if it was you make efforts towards other subjects on a regular basis. The fact of the matter is you and he are not remotely comparable because you're extremely open to the discussion of other subjects and the only thing you do that could be seen as derailing are the short yet amusing references you occasionally leave that are read, laughed at then forgotten just as quickly. The disruption, if any, is minimal.
I fail to see why you would subject yourself to such an inadequete and insulting comparison.
